At Lucky Sprout, we believe the simple message of “doing good” is worth promoting. We’ve created a cast of characters who serve as positive examples by doing good deeds. The Lucky Sprout crew - Lucky, Piper, Kaboing and Turbo - are ambassadors of the Be a Good Seed message that every individual can create positive change in the world around them.
To us, being a good seed means acting in ways that are good for ourselves, good for others and good for the planet. Our focus is on everyday activities – caring for a friend, planting a seed, conserving water – that help create a better world. We say, let compassion lead and good will follow.
At Lucky Sprout, we recognize with much happiness the growing desire of many to live by a shared set of values. These values include a commitment to healthy people and a healthy planet, fairness in society and the economy, a respect for diversity among people and in nature, and a desire for more peace in the world.
We believe the routine practice of individual action rooted in compassion, kindness, and mutual respect reinforces positive values. This is a good thing, because people- and planet-friendly values lead to more conscientious living. And more conscientious living produces happier people, a healthier environment and the possibility of more citizens around the globe having access to the basic things they need to live well.
We live in an exciting time and Lucky Sprout is committed to contributing to the positive changes we are beginning to see all around us.
Lucky Sprout was established by Suzanne Premo and Cynthia Hannah in 2008 as a design initiative to create imaginative and inspiring environmental and socially conscious messages for children and adults alike. There are many ways to promote people and planet friendly living. At Lucky Sprout, we believe Lucky and friends are ideal vehicles for communicating the values so many of us share.
Lucky Sprout is inspired by the life spirit of courageous, resourceful and imaginative people. In other words, by some very good seeds. Many are people we know and many we have never met. All are individuals who have identified pressing needs in the world around them and have fearlessly and passionately worked toward finding solutions.
We are motivated by those making a positive difference. So much so we decided to create a company devoted to promoting the idea that our daily actions matter. For us, the road to a healthier planet and more just world starts right in our own backyard. Perfection in living is not the objective, doing the best we can is.
Lucky Sprout's design studio is located in Seattle, Washington and our operations facility is in rural, southwestern Ohio.
I have been fascinated by drawings and paintings since I was a small child. In elementary school, I was banned from the picture book section of the library, and told to spend my time with more serious books. Many years later, I have decided to ignore this advice, and pursue my passion for children’s art by creating my own paintings and illustrated stories.
I live with my small family in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood. My children are constant sources of inspiration, sometime collaborators and frequent models for my work. My adorable but spoiled pug also pushes his way into many of the drawings and paintings.
Before having my own children, I worked as a Montessori preschool teacher, where I gained much insight into the mental universe of small children. My drawings and paintings explore the fantastic possibilities of our world, seen through the eyes of little kids.
